Trump says media is 'Enemy' after shooting, bomb plot

Pittsburgh synagogue shooting: Brothers and married couple among 11 victims Leaked White House Schedules Prove Trump Watches Cable News Three Times More than Doing Official Work

On Twitter Monday, Trump blamed the news media for "division and hatred" in the country and called the press "the true Enemy of the People".

On "Meet the Press", Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto, said the families of Saturday's tragic synagogue shooting should decide if President Donald Trump attends a memorial event.

Sanders said that the president is not referencing "all media" as the enemy of the people, but rather is calling out "the growing amount of fake news that exists in the country".

Critics have said Trump's tough talk on immigrants and language about Jewish rivals such as Democratic donor George Soros has led to an increase in politically motivated violence.

But not everyone wants the president here, including two Jewish groups that have addressed a letter to him and circulated an online petition with this message: "It is extremely disrespectful, and you are not welcome", said Ella Mason with If Not Now PGH.

Acosta then followed up, asking her to specifically name the news outlets that Trump considered the "enemy of the people".

Trump will travel to Pennsylvania on Tuesday with first lady Melania Trump.

"The very first action that the president did was condemn these heinous acts".

Police say the shooter told them he hated Jews because they were "committing genocide to his people". "I immediately wrote to the rest of our steering committee that he is not welcome, we have to make that clear".

A Florida man, whose van was covered with pro-Trump and anti-Democrat stickers, was arrested last week for sending pipe bombs to a dozen prominent Democrat figures, including former President Barack Obama.

That caravan has been a popular talking point of late for Trump, whose early efforts to ratchet back his rhetoric amid last week's pipe-bomb scare have since given way to old patterns.

She also had a testy exchange with a reporter about President Trump's rhetoric.

For example, Bowers had reportedly referred on social media to anger at a group of several thousand impoverished Central Americans now attempting to walk north to the United States - a favourite target of the president's anti-immigrant rhetoric.

Per US law, each federal death penalty case must be authorized by the AG upon consultation with local attorneys. Asked about Trump's comments since the massacre, she pointed to Waters' and Steyer's criticism of the Republican president and went on to say Trump was seeking unity. "Thus far, they have shown no comprehension of that", Zucker said. "Expressing support for the congressman who body-slammed a reporter, the neo-Nazis who killed a young woman in Charlottesville, his supporters at rallies who get violent with protesters, dictators around the world who murder their own citizens, and referring to the free press as the enemy of the people".

"I think it is sad and divisive the way that every single thing that comes out of the media ... is negative about this president."
