Dr. Christine Blasey Ford Hearing Harvard Law School says Brett Kavanaugh won’t return to teach course: reports

After witnessing the spectacle in person yesterday, the Senate owes Judge Kavanaugh an apology.

Ms Collins, who was riding with Ms Murkowski on an underground Senate train, smiled and told her colleague, "Good answer".

The White House announced Friday afternoon that President Donald Trump had ordered the FBI to open a supplemental background investigation into Kavanaugh.

He said that it was "a scary time for young men" who could become subject of false accusations. "You are truly guilty until proven innocent".

"Actually, I want them to interview whoever they deem appropriate, at their discretion", Trump tweeted on Saturday. The Times report broke shortly after Dudley issued a statement, via the White House, claiming that he never witnessed Kavanaugh have any drinking issues during their time at Yale. In addition to the Ford case, he said, Deborah Ramirez, who has accused Kavanaugh of similar behavior, "already been spoken to", and likely some of the relevant witnesses to that case as well.

A friend of Mr Kavanaugh's threw a glass at a 21-year-old man, leaving the victim "bleeding from the right ear".

"There were certainly many times when he could not remember what was going on", he told CNN. Dudley and Cozzolino didn't immediately return messages on Tuesday.

Mr Kavanaugh was not arrested over the 1985 incident.

"What's happening here has much more to do than even the appointment of a Supreme Court justice".

His attorney, Barbara "Biz" Van Gelder, wouldn't say Tuesday when the interview concluded or what Judge was asked. "Though we appreciated the agents who responded on Sunday, we have great concern that the FBI is not conducting-or not being permitted to conduct-a serious investigation", Ramirez's attorney, John Clune, wrote on Twitter Tuesday.

The FBI is investigating claims made by Christine Blasey Ford that the Supreme Court nominee sexually assaulted her in the 1980s. Kavanaugh strongly denies the allegation.

Steve Gomez, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent in charge and an ABC News analyst, said the Federal Bureau of Investigation could gather plenty of information in a short time, in part because they already had a lot.

While Kavanaugh was not "perfect with respect to alcohol", Trump said he knew opposition Democrat senators who are not "angels".

"The mudslide was cheered on and capitalized on at every turn by the far left that has been so eager to stop this nomination", he said.

"The politics of personal destruction were willfully unleashed" by Democrats, McConnell said, adding, "This is not politics as usual".

The second letter says that while the questioning Kavanaugh faced was "of course painful", he chose to be "intemperate, inflammatory and partial" rather than assist senators trying to assess the allegation against him.

He said Mr Kavanaugh seemed willing to "mislead senators about everything from the momentous to the mundane" to ensure his ascension to the court. She faces Republican Chris McDaniel and Democrats Mike Espy and Tobey Bernard Bartee in next month's special election for the remainder of the two-year term.

The FBI is expected to interview Judge Kavanaugh and some of the women who have accused him of sexual misconduct - including Prof Ford, who testified last week to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The announcement was made in an email from administrators to law students on Monday.

A Harvard Law School spokeswoman confirmed Kavanaugh's decision to The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Kavanaugh was scheduled to teach a three-week course called The Supreme Court Since 2005. He has taught at the law school for about a decade.

Mr Trump's remarks came as he reiterated his support for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, who is now facing sexual misconduct allegations by several women. Kavanaugh has denied the allegations.

Not so, argued Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, contending the Democrats are simply looking to "move the goalposts" to prevent Kavanaugh's confirmation. Joni Ernst in her Senate offices ahead of the Senate confirmation hearings on Capitol Hill in Washington on July 31.

Judge has said that he has no memory of the alleged incident and never saw Kavanaugh behave like that. Add Supreme Court as an interest to stay up to date on the latest Supreme Court news, video, and analysis from ABC News.

Negotiations among lawmakers on the Senate Judiciary Committee last week spurred the new investigation.

"The minority has no power to delay, none", he said.

Ms Ford shared her allegation at an extraordinary congressional hearing last week that also included Mr Kavanaugh's angry and emotional denial.

One of the letters, from a national group of female legal educators, accuses Kavanaugh of showing a disrespect for women, after he lashed out at Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota.
