Asian friends pull off epic prank of Pearland McDonald's

According to Twitter, Maravilla's reason for making the poster is that he simply noticed a blank wall in a McDonald's and wanted to fill it.
He said: "If you haven't noticed there isn't a lot of Asians represented in the Media and hopefully someday I can see someone like me on the big screen".
"Look around. There are literally no Asians on these walls", he says as he points to other pictures on the walls. "It was like a calling". Jevh, who has Filipino heritage, decided it was time to fix this and enlisted his friend Christian Toledo to help.
Then they set out to ideal the photo, which needed a bit of doctoring.
"I really hope they never take it down."
They then ordered a giant poster to their home and planned their prank.
At a friend's suggestion, Maravilla checked the local Goodwill for old McDonald's uniforms and walked away with a $7 shirt to pose as an employee while they pulled off the stunt. "I was very, very nervous", Jevh said.
'What motivated me was Crazy Rich Asians, the movie that came out, that boosted my confidence into thinking maybe one day I could be just like that, and if I take a step and do something small like this, it could make a difference.
On a YouTube video Maravilla posted in August after he first carried out the prank, he explained a little more about the motivation behind it.
As of Tuesday morning, Maravilla told USA TODAY the advertisement was still hanging in the restaurant.
Maravilla is hopeful about the fast food corporation's response.
They edited the poster to have the same dotted circle design as the other ones in the restaurant.
"We take pride in highlighting diversity in every aspect of our restaurants. We applaud these students' creativity and hope to see them in our restaurants again soon", the owner said.
