Tesla CEO Elon Musk Says He Shed No Tears in NYT Interview

Vernon Unsworth was working with authorities to rescue a dozen Thai boys and their football coach from a treacherous cave system, which had filled with rain water.

Unsworth had criticised a mini-submarine that Musk had delivered for the rescue as impractical and said he could "stick [it] where it hurts".

L. Lin Wood, a lawyer retained by the British diver Vernon Unsworth, whom Elon Musk called a "pedo," is "preparing a civil complaint for libel" against Musk, BuzzFeed reported. Both tweets were later deleted.

He has never presented any evidence for the allegation nor claimed to have any.

However, he appeared to revive those claims in a Twitter conversation Tuesday night after a critic - tech publicist Drew Olanoff - with the handle @yoda mentioned it. However, earlier this week, Musk appeared to double-down on his pedophilia themed attacks, tweeting, "You don't think it's unusual [Unsworth] hasn't sued me?"

Musk posted the tweet in response to an article about the removal of accounts responsible for coordinated manipulation on Twitter, praising the micro-blogging platform's actions.

"Did you investigate at all?" I'm guessing answer is no. "Why?" he wrote in subsequent tweets that are still online.

Musk started 17 days of drama when he tweeted on August 7 that he had "funding secured" to take Tesla private, without sharing evidence that investor money was indeed lined up.

The attention that the go-private-or-not saga generated from Wall Street and the government fuelled speculation that Musk may start to tone down his presence on social media, perhaps at the urging of Tesla's board, which was put on the defensive by the episode. Three weeks ago, he tweeted that he was considering taking Tesla private - a move that has led to at least two class-actions suits being filed and a possible investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

He told The New York Times this month the past year had been "excruciating" and the "most hard and painful of my career", claiming he had been working up to 120 hours a week and neglecting his health and family.

Musk asked the Twitter user if he had investigated the diver, to which he sarcastically replied, "the world should police your lack of filter and everything that comes after". His earlier tweets on the British diver had sent investors away from the Tesla stock. "And I'm sure the company's lawyers are telling him that".
