Police in Chicagosaid that a spate of deadly shootings over the weekend left at least 10 people dead and at least 59 wounded.
Two people were killed and 28 were wounded between midnight and 3 a.m., including at least 13 teenagers, one of whom was shot in the head and killed, the Sun-Times reported.
Most of the shootings happened in poor neighborhoods on the West and South Sides where gangs are entrenched, said Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson, standing next to the mayor. "It's the same people pulling the triggers". This isn't a widespread issue among citizens of the city.
