Rohit Sharma struck his third worldwide T20 century to complete a 2-1 series victory for India over England at Bristol.

Bumrah's absence, particularly in the T20 series against England would have hurt the visitors much more as the lanky Gujarat bowler, along with his swing-mate Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, makes the Indian attack the toughest to deal with both at the start and at the end of the innings in the shortest format of the game.

England set the tourists a target of 198 to win, and looked to be making good early progress when Jake Ball caught Shikhar Dhawan for five off the bowling of David Willey. India, in fact, stand on the cusp of a sixth successive T20I series win.

Dhoni (unbeaten 32 off 24 deliveries) and Hardik Pandya's (12 not out off 10 balls) valuable contributions in the final moments helped India reach a competitive total.

He could only muster 19 runs from the three matches and this isn't great for India as Dhawan generally takes some time to get back into form after struggling for a few matches.

In order to ensure that the good work done in the first match doesn't go to waste, India will have to continue their dominance. They won the T20I series 2-1 and impressed one and all with their performance. We have to get back day after.

More than the remaining T20 matches and the ODI series that follows, India must look at using Kuldeep as a strike bowler in the impending and all important Test series that takes off in August.

Darwan was dismissed by Jason Roy's throw and quick-thinking by England captain Eoin Morgan who referred the decision to the TV umpire and was proved correct. Hales hit three sixes and four fours in his 41-ball knock to lead England home, and the teams head into the final match of the series in Bristol on Sunday all square.

Five - MS Dhoni's five catches in England's innings was a new Twenty20 global record - and the veteran wicketkeeper added a run-out from the last ball for good measure. He had a good outing behind the stumps with 7 dismissals which includes 5 catches and 2 stumpings.

The 27-year old hit the first six of the match in the fourth over, a princely down the ground shot at long off before tonking Siddharth Kaul (2/35) for another maximum in the next over to show his intent.

Hello, Alex Broun and the rest of the Sport360 team are in place to provide you with the latest news, comment and analysis on all things cricket. Roy and Buttler stitched together 94-run partnership for the first wicket.

Chahar bowled a superb slower ball to spoil Roy's timing, only to feather an edge to wicketkeeper star MS Dhoni.

Eoin Morgan and Virat Kohli, captain of England and India respectively.

The rest of the batsmen could not take England past the 200-mark but still posted a more than par total.
