Apple's Next iPhone Series Rumored To Launch With New Colors

In a note to investors on Thursday (July 5), Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple is cooking up a variety of color options for this year's three new iPhones, according to 9to5Mac, which obtained a copy of his note.

Last year, Apple released their most advanced phone yet, the iPhone X. The smallest phone will also likely not have an OLED display like the current X, instead opting for a slightly more affordable, and duller, LCD screen.

Kuo believes that the 2018 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus will carry a $999 price tag which is similar to the existing 5.8-inch iPhone X. There is also a rumoured 6.1-inch LED iPhone, which will reportedly come in gray, white, blue, red, and orange colour schemes.

Tech experts have claimed that Apple will equip a future iPhone with a new type of power supply which could mean a lot of people's old plugs are made redundant. However, given the popularity of smartphones with red color among consumers, the company might offer the LCD iPhone with a slightly different shade of red right at launch.

Aside from new color options, Kuo floated some possible pricing for Apple's upcoming handsets. All three phones will feature edge-to-edge display and Face ID-so bid farewell to the Touch ID button.

This is all speculation at the moment, but it comes from Kuo who has often been correct about iPhone rumors in the past. In light of all this, it makes sense for all manufacturers of smartphones and laptops to adapt to a new universal standard of charging and data transfer cable, an idea to which all but Apple seemed to be open.
