Dedrick D. Williams, 22, was arrested shortly before 7 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of murder, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office.

Dedrick Devonshay Williams was taken into custody Wednesday (June 20) in Pompano Beach, Fla., a neighboring city south of the Deerfield Beach, where the "Look At Me" rapper was murdered.

Tuesday night on Los Angeles' Melrose Avenue to mourn the 20-year-old rapper Jahseh Onfroy, his real name, who died on Monday after being shot in Miami.

He was exiting the dealership in his luxury BMW electric auto when he was shot. Williams was charged with first-degree murder without premeditation as well as driving without a valid license and probation violation for vehicle theft, People reported. The judge ordered Williams to be held without bond.

Lenar Nesmith of Pompano Beach, a fan of Broward-based rapper XXXTentacion, whose given name was Jahseh Onfroy, visits the shooting scene on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. He did not face jail time for any of these charges, some of which were dropped. In 2014, Williams allegedly held a gun to his girlfriend's head. The Broward County Sheriff's Office confirmed the arrest, but didn't give a motive.


Police have reportedly issued two other arrest warrants for two suspects they believe to be involved in the killing of XXXTentacion. In that statement, the sheriff's office also noted it would offer a $3,000 reward for information that led to an arrest.

Authorities said the rapper was ambushed by two people.

Williams was arrested on several charges, including first-degree murder. "His latest album "?" premiered at No. 1 when it was released in March, according to Billboard. Later, he faced more charges including witness tampering.

XXXTentacion was a rising star in the hip hop realm. He was charged with aggravated battery of a pregnant woman and false imprisonment among other charges, and he was due to stand trial before his death.

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of United States rapper XXXTentacion. A GoFundMe page she launched to assist her with medical bills she alleges were related to the artist's abuse has raised more than $10,000 since XXXTentacion's death, and has grown to a total of $36,000, exceeding her goal of $25,000.
