This prediction is quite in keeping with earlier leaks, which were published representatives of the Taiwanese Economic Daily News last month.

The report shows a research note from Yuanta Securities, which claims that Apple might launch an iPhone with three cameras.

Does not specify whether in this case it is about optical, digital or a hybrid increase. Previously numerous Apple's iPhone X users have come up connecting the breakdown of the Face ID with the back camera of the phone. Recently, Chinese smartphone maker Huawei launched its flagship smartphone Huawei P20 Pro with triple camera and now Apple is also planning to join the same bandwagon. Main color module received a resolution of 40 MP. The report said the 2019 iPhone will feature three 12MP 6P lenses with up to 5X zoom.

More specifically, it touts a Leica-developed camera configuration is comprised of a 40MP RGB sensor, a 20MP monochrome sensor and an 8MP sensor with telephoto lens. Without providing any further details, Taipei Times reported that at least one of the new iPhone models coming in 2019 will have three cameras, and it's naturally going to be the highest-end variant.

Apple might introduce triple cameras on the iPhone next year.

Huawei's new P20 series has three phones from which the Triple Lens setup is available on the most premium device i.e. Huawei P20 Pro phone. Apple could use the third lens to make low light photography look better, for example. The support document, obtained by 9to5Mac interestingly talks about fixing the iPhone X's rear camera in order to get FaceID working.

Anyone who is hoping this might be a 2018 move let us inform you that former KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already ruled out any significant changes occurring to the iPhone X's current dual-lens rear camera system this year.
