The Motorola has announced the Moto G6 and Moto E5 series at an event in Brazil. The Moto G series has been the mid-range offering from the company and among its most successful phones. The G6, slightly confusingly, comes in three variants. These phones will be launched "in the coming months".

The Moto E5, on the other hand, includes a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. There is also a fingerprint scanner at the back, hidden under the Moto logo. It is the first model in the series to have optimized bezels, an 18:9 format screen and a glass finish on the rear.

"Priciest of the bunch is the G6 Plus (£269), which features a 5.9", 18:9 aspect ratio and Full HD display.

There's also Moto Actions for various gestures including twisting the G6 twice quickly to launch the camera.

The Moto G6 is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery.

Moto E5 Plus has a bigger 6-inch put and on the display with HD+ resolution. All three phones have a water-resistant rating of p2i and are splash-proof.

As per reports, the E5 and E5 Plus are set to be launched in the United Kingdom in early June starting at £119 (about Rs 11,131) and £149 (Rs 13,937), respectively, though there is no information about the pricing of Moto E5 Play.

We particularly like the 3D rear glass on offer here that's reminiscent of the Galaxy S7 and also the Honor 9. That's because features that take advantage of a dual camera were then in the beta stage, and according to Motorola, they're more mature in the Moto G6 Plus and can therefore provide better results. The Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus include a USB Type-C port, while the Moto G6 Play comes with standard micro-USB port.

Armed with Android Oreo operating system, the E5 Play comes in Snapdragon 425/427 processors with Adreno 308 GPU and 2 GB RAM.

Storage: 16GB, expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 450, octa-core, 1.8GHz. There are two RAM and storage variants: 3GB RAM+32GB and 4GB + 64GB combinations.

The smartphone's main feature is its 5,000mAh battery which should offer a long battery backup, especially since it has a 720p+ display resolution. The battery capacity is mammoth at 4000mAh with USB Type-C port for charging. It comes with a dual-camera setup featuring a 12-megapixel sensor and 5-megapixel sensor.
