In March, Cambridge Analytica whistlerblower Chris Wylie implicated the company during testimony before a Parliamentary committee, saying that the company used cooperated with and used information from Cambridge Analytica during the Britain's Leave campaign, and that it might have helped the campaigns sidestep political spending limits. Facebook has now announced that the Unsend feature will be rolled out to all Facebook users.

Facebook Canada said on Wednesday that more than 600,000 Canadians had their data "improperly shared" with Cambridge Analytica.

"AggregateIQ has never managed, nor did we ever have access to, any Facebook data or database allegedly obtained improperly by Cambridge Analytica", it read. For all of their information to be protected, users would have to basically pay to use Facebook. While initially it was assumed that the London-based consultancy gained access to "only" 50 million accounts, for political targeting and psychological profiling, including during the 2016 U.S. election campaign, on Wednesday Facebook revealed that Cambridge Analytica harvested data from 87 million people, including 71 million Americans. She further said that when users allow people to delete messages arbitrarily, they lose transcript consistency, and when that happens cause-and-effect could get muddled or lost entirely.

The company is facing a global backlash over the improper data-sharing scandal. Now that Zuckerberg's secret is exposed, the social media giant is planning to appease users by rolling out an unsend feature to its platform.

Wigand said that European Union data protection authorities will discuss over the coming days "a strong coordinated approach" on how to deal with the Facebook investigation.

Sadly, the company did not acknowledge the same doings about their CEO Mark Zuckerberg's messages.

Htaike Htaike Aung, executive director of one of the groups, Myanmar ICT for Development Organization, says Facebook has been a useful tool for people in Myanmar to exercise freedom of expression, but it had failed to effectively enforce rules to make it a safe community for all. More often than not, his apologies have followed revelations about how little regard the social media site has for user views and privacy interests.

The interview with NPR is part of an intense damage control tour the company has undertaken to respond to users, politicians and regulators who are outraged to learn that for years, Facebook had left people's personal information open for mining by third-party app developers.

Washington:Some of the information improperly harvested from Facebook Inc. users might be stored in Russian Federation, said the former employee of Cambridge Analytica who blew the whistle on the data-privacy scandal involving the analytics firm's role in the 2016 presidential election.

Facebook Indonesia Head of Public Policy Ruben Hattari says they will keep cooperating with the Indonesian government.
