Today the word comes down that Google Lens Comes To Google Photos For Android. Google Lens, which made its debut in Google's flagship smartphone Pixel 2 a year ago is a photo analyzing app powered by AI that resides in Google Photos.

Just days shy of Pi day, Google released the first developer preview for what will most likely be Android 9.0, a.k.a. For now Android P is meant for app developers, phone makers and people involved in fine-tuning phone software.

When Google released the first Android P developer preview yesterday afternoon, the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Pixel C were notably missing from the preview's short list of supported devices. For now Android P is available only as a developer preview. I personally think that anything involving "Pie" is not sweet enough, not to mention that pies do not come in many colors. If you have any better ideas, please drop a comment and let us know!

A timeline shared on the Android Developers site gives us an idea on when future developer previews for Android P will be released.

The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P were included in the Android Oreo beta, but neither device is part of the Android P beta and we don't expect that to change.

A bigger problem than the Android P not coming to the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P is the fact this version of Android will not come to majority of Android phones sold in the last six months.

Google typically confirms new Android updates at its annual developer conference.

With Android P, Google has made some improvements to messaging notifications. However, the monthly security updates will be regular on the devices. Moreover, Google has also added support for Smart Replies in the notification so that you can quickly reply to messages.

Google Lens, which is already available on the firm's flagship Pixel 2 smartphone, uses Google's vast amount of data to help you identify things you take a photograph of and then provide information on that object. Devices are now also able to subscribe to different update channels thanks to the new APIs that have been added to UpdateManager.
