Time's shortlist consists of ten people editors will choose from to designate as 2017's Person of the Year.

According to Fox News, "Many of the names listed on the shortlist have been surrounded by controversy this year". This movement prompted millions of women to speak out about sexual assault and sexual harassment that they had experienced.


The #MeToo movement has gained steam in recent weeks as a growing number of people have come forward to accuse multiple public figures of sexual misconduct.

Time is expected to unveil the 2017 Person of the Year on Wednesday.
