Production on the sixth season of House of Cards came to a halt October 31 following bombshell sexual misconduct allegations against Spacey, who starred in the series for five seasons as politician Frank Underwood and also served as an executive producer.

As reported by Variety, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos announced an agreement has been made to move forward with production in early 2018.

Indie Wire reported that the six season will end with focus exclusively on Robin Wright's character, Claire Underwood, according to Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos.

The fate of Netflix hit House Of Cards became uncertain after sexual abuse allegation against lead actor Kevin Spacey caused producers to put shooting of the show on an indefinite hiatus.

Now that house of Cards is heading back into production, we can't wait to see how the final season plays out. Initially it was expected that production would start again after Thanksgiving, but scriptwriters continue to work on new scripts, of which now has to disappear character of Frank Underwood, co-star of history.

Netflix and Media Rights Capital have finally figured out their way forward on House of Cards.

Spacey was ultimately booted from the series following multiple accusations of sexual harassment.

Sarandos also reportedly added that Season 6 will contain eight episodes.

The actor is "taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment", according to a representative.

In November, Netflix said it wouldn't be involved with the series if Spacey remained.

The actor was also replaced by Christopher Plummer in Ridley Scott's drama All the Money in the World, leading to last-minute reshoots before the film's release on 22 December.
