She was reportedly anxious that Rodriguez would "mess up her life" if she didn't go along with him.

The 17-year-old girl was believed to be with Rian Rodriguez, a 27-year-old soccer coach at Fort White High School in Lake City, Fla., police said.

The spokesman said Frisina was relieved and emotional when she finally made contact with her parents, and seemed regretful about some of the decisions she's made.

Frisina was detained until she reunited with her parents Saturday in the Syracuse area. The sheriff's office said, the officer came to the auto, pulled it and took Rodriguez into custody.

Caitlyn left behind her cell phone when she disappeared, after doing a factor reset on it.

Officials at Fort White High School have suspended Rodriguez, who coached the boys soccer team at the north Florida school. Caitlyn's father, also a soccer coach, reacted to the fact Rodriguez was a family friend and once an assistant coach on his staff.

Rodriguez and Caitlyn Frisina were stopped in NY on Friday afternoon by a state police officer.

Caitlyn Frisina's parents joined Columbia County deputies Monday for an update on the recovery of the teen daughter.

Frisina's mother Scarlet Frisina told ABC News, the family is trying to "work through things".

It wasn't immediately clear if Rodriguez has a lawyer.

"We are so appreciative for the role that each and every one played in helping with her safe and speedy recovery", Frisina said as Caitlyn clung to her father's arm nearby.

Caitlyn told her friend that she was "scared and didn't know what to do", police said. That was the teen's last known location, Smith said. The sheriff's office said Frisina made a $200 ATM withdrawal Sunday in St. Marys, Georgia, which is about 100 miles northeast of Columbia County. "His comment to us was 'just like Florida there's a lot of friendly people here, ' and he felt Syracuse was a lot like Florida and he could find some time to spend here", said New York State Trooper Jack Keller.
