Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will take part in their first official engagement together on Friday.

This first visit was a special one for the philanthropic pair; the day was sponsored by the Terrence Higgins Trust, an organization for which Harry has done advocacy work.

But, a mere four days into her engagement, Meghan Markle is already learning to do things the Windsor way.

Mary Cooper, 60, who had been waiting to see the prince and his bride-to-be since before 9am, said: "I think it's absolutely wonderful that both he and his brother have found happiness". The adorable duo greeted a cheering crowd outside the National Justice Museum in Nottingham.

Harry has become a prominent campaigner on the issue, following in the footsteps of Diana who opened Britain's first HIV/AIDS unit in London in 1987 and famously shook hands with and kissed an AIDS patient during a hospital visit.

The couple were visiting a charity fair to mark World Aids Day, something particularly symbolic for Harry whose late mother Princess Diana is credited with playing a leading role in breaking down the stigma that was attached to the disease.

This is the couples first public event since the announcement of their engagement on Monday.

Meghan Markle, fiancee of Britain's Prince Harry, arrives at the Nottingham Contemporary Centre.

Nearly overnight, a thumbs up from Markle has become the most sought-after endorsement a brand can get and today's chosen ones included a mix of her go-to American labels, with some newly discovered British brands too.

The couple, who will be married at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, next May, are planning to tour the United Kingdom in the six months leading up to their wedding so the former actress can get to know her new home.
